I think I usually have a good handle on keeping my priorities straight … on keeping everything in check, but I guess every once in a while we need a little “gut-check” to make sure that we truly are on the right path.
I am a busy lady. I think that where I am currently in my life is pretty normal for my age and life stage. I am married, have two children (one of which is a teen, and one of which is a “tween”), work full time, and dabble in some freelance projects. I’m usually running around like a chicken with my head cut off, but that’s me … I thrive on that. I pride myself on being on the forefront of social media and social marketing. I help my clients manage their marketing strategies using these avenues, but today I was reminded that it’s important not to spend too much time online, as you lose track of the “real life” that you should be “living.” Remember, everything is good “in moderation” I was told this morning.
My kids have been on vacation for two weeks, so I’ve used some of that time to do some online learning and to keep up-to-date on my social marketing knowledge, but now that my kids are back I need to readjust my priorities … kids now move up to the top of the list, and everything else slides back just a bit. Not to say that I’m still not doing an A+ job at everything else in my life … it’s just that I need to remind myself, everything in moderation.
Have you had your “gut check” lately? Are your priorities straight? Balanced?
