When I started improving my life, I had low self-esteem and low self-worth.  I was completely unaware that these issues backed my problems.  Why I had these problems I understand now, but at the time, I was clueless?  I failed to comprehend that I really could do anything that I wanted to with my life.  I refused to conceive that I could do anything another individual could.  My favorite thing to say seemed to be “Yeah but…”

After several years, I am delighted to say that I now understand that I do have what it takes to accomplish anything I set my mind on.  It took numerous years of learning and growth – self-help can take time.  One day it occurred to me that you and I are equal in our ability and talent to everyone else.  Yes, you too, can become a millionaire in the field of your dreams.

Okay maybe a millionaire is too immense to start out or maybe not.  Let me use someone like Tony Robbins or Wayne Dyer as an example.  In the self-improvement industry, these names, some consider Gurus or Giants.  You too have what it takes to flourish the way that they have.  Maybe you want to become an author, give seminars, and greatly encourage humanity.

You were born with everything necessary to do anything that you choose.  Many blogs and websites are offering suggestions on how.  Many of the books I have read propose the same ideas.  What does Tony or Dr. Dyer possess that you are lacking?  The answer is absolutely, zilch!  Why is Tony Robins prosperous in his field?  At a notably young age, he learned how to talk.  Why is a football athlete earning millions of dollars annually?   At a young age, he learned how to walk, and then later developed the skill of running.

It took several years for me to conceive that everyone can accomplish anything.  Are you willing to acknowledge that you learned how to write in grammar school?  Can you embrace the suggestion that you are capable of writing a publication?   If you learned how to run, you know how to race.  Explore your heart for what you are interested in and develop your passion.  To do the things you desire to do, recognize that you learned how as a youngster, just as Tony learned to talk!

Think about this for one moment and really let it seep into your intellect.  The words I can’t actually mean I won’t.  I was speaking on the telephone with my grandson’s dad the other day, trying to collaborate with him on his computer.  After he told me “I cannot understand this, it is too hard.” I asked him to put his son on the phone.   Our grandson, Noah, is eight years old, and he easily completed the task that his dad had been trying to do.  Noah concentrated and followed instructions because his mind was set on “I can, and I will!”

    A couple of thoughts.
We get there in small steps.
We may be able to do anything we want, we may not be able to do everything we want (and certainly not at the same time).
We can overestimate what we can do in a year but usually underestimate what we can do in five.
Thanks for your post – everyone I can think of (including me) underestimates what they are capable of.

      Hi Evan,

Thank you for including your thoughts. It is accurate that we can do anything, but not everything. We are capable of so much more than we believe. I like how you pointed out, “We can overestimate what we can do in a year but usually underestimate what we can do in five.” Many of us go through life, reasoning that we cannot do what other people do. We are created for success!

      Regards,

      Sandra

With all due respect, sir, I think there are better examples to use than either Wayne Dyer or Tony Robbins as models of success.

First, Wayne has a remarkably open mind. He is all over the board and has the ability to “cherrypick” inspirational nuggets for his own advancement thatmany of us simply could not accept intellectually. Just check out the number of books he has written–as has Robbins. Doesn’t it seem to you that if you are given a great secret that has unlimited power to transform your life, you could write one book on that? What is there left to say? How many sequels have their been to the Bible or Koran?

Which brings us to Tony Robbins. Robbins made his bones by misleading people concerning the realities of firewalking. Fair enough. Forgive and forget. His first bestselling book, however, was called “Unlimited Power” or perhaps it was “Awaken the Giant within You”. Here’s the deal: it wasn’t “An Introduction to Unlimited Power”

or “Unlimited Power, Volumn 1″. If he was divulging the secrets to “unlimited power”, where’s the need for a sequel?

There are many genuine “gurus” out there who are “one and done”. Vivekenanda, one of India’s greatest mystics wrote one book in seven volumns. The Buddha? I don’t think he wrote anything.

Then there’s the legendary R.H.: one book about 10 pages and another a little longer to explain it. Why? It took him in “It Works” to say it all.

Simplicity. Simplicity. Simplicity. With the exception of Sandra’s third paragraph, EVERYTHING Robiins, Dwyer and Deepak Chopra (don’t get me started) have written that made them tens of millions of dollars is right there.

If you want to splurge spend a dollar or two on “It Works” or download it for free. Yep, for free since it’s in the public domain.

    Just go to

    http://www.xehupatl.com/oldschooldwnld.htm

(I have no financial or any interest in this other than passing it along. You will find 70 inspirational and self-books, downloadable for no cost whatsoever. Some you will like; others not so much but the price can’t be beat.

    • @grkorbel Wonderful insight! Thanks for leaving such a great contribution. I am sure Sandra appreciates it as well. Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for more, coming soon.

      Regards,

Hey, Darren. Thanks for the bouquet. I’ve gotten to the point that whenever I hear the

word “secret”, unless it’s associated with classified documents, extramarital affairs, or what goes into Colonel Sanders recipe for fried chicken, I think I’m being gamed.

This “guru” has the “secret” of making anyone fall in love with you; that one for losing 20 pounds during “60 Minutes”, and another has unearthed all the “secret” cures for diseases that have baffled every great physician from Hippocrates to Pasteur.

If anything, life is only to happy to disclose its secrets (except in the field of physics which I think is nature’s way of having fun with us):

        Einstein: Relativity

        Nature: Quantum Mechanics. Check.

        Hawking: String theory.

        Nature: Multiple orgasms. Checkmate.

        “God always bats last.”

    • @grkorbel Well, I think I now have a new “Best Comment” on this blog. I think it’s awfully presumptuous for anyone to declare or accept being declared as a guru in anything. Unless they’ve seen it all, which I could debate for hours is impossible (despite my belief that nothing is impossible). ;) Thanks again!

And you not only can do anything that you see anyone else doing, you can even do things that no one else has ever done!

This is very encouraging for all. Awesome analogies about Tony Robbins learning how to talk and then becoming an extraordinary speaker. So true!
