Celebrate International Women's DayMarch 8 is International Women’s Day.  International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. There are events all over the world to celebrate women on this day. Check out International Women’s Day website to learn more.

Women have come a long way, over the years, to exercise their rights and freedom. Women have made many contributions to the world and are more educated and successful than ever. Some women are contributing to a better world by doing the work they do professionally and some by raising wonderful and productive children that will add to our future world. Some do both!

Many women are caregivers, law makers, change agents and more! I know many women who have such drive and passion that they are truly unstoppable. And sometimes that drive and passion is completely related to their children and that too is an honorable contribution.

On March 8, honor a woman or women in your life who have positively affected you whether personally, professionally or both! Though women are honored and valued more than ever, there are still injustices and inequality. I hold onto hope that this will improve over time and think individually we can and should honor those around us that make our world a better place!

On March 8, I will honor those women (and there are many!) who have positively impacted my life and influenced me. For today I would like to honor my two adult daughters who have blessed my life and taught me so much more than I ever could have imagined about motherhood, friendship and the power of strong women! I am so excited to see what the future holds as they continue to blossom in their roles as women of strength, character and beauty! LYM

We appreciate and honor all the amazing women connected to the Then Life Happens community!

Please give a shout out tho those who have positively affected you by commenting and sharing this post with the woman or women who deserved to be honored by you!

There are so many women that I honour and celebrate, and have been a teacher to me along my way in life. My Mum and Sister in Ontario. Then there are so many others growing up like grade 4 and 6 teachers, high school swim coaches. And into adult hood, the ladies I met while doing personal growth work. And this past year all the brilliant women I’ve met through women’s networking organizations such as eWomen Network, and Womanition. Yourself Angela are among that list too. I thank all the women in my life, they are all teachers, and I celebrate each of you!
